Step 3: Backup Virtual Machine 's Guru ID & Setup Shared Network Folders (SMB)
Guru generates a unique Guru ID when it is started the first time. Start the VM, Guru will start automatically and generate the unique Guru ID. There are two ways to perform a backup, either archive the VM disk or copy the GuruKey. To archive the newly initialized VM disk image from the Host machine, first shutdown the OS and close the VM then make a copy of the VM's virtual disk(.vdi). To copy the Key, set-up the VM with your shared local network drives (see "Connecting to a Shared Network Folder (SMB)") make a copy of the "D:\RiGuru\GuruKey\" directory.
Step 4: Use RI Virtual Workstation
From the Virtualbox Manager, right click on the Virtual Workstation and select "Create Shorcut on Desktop". The "Save State" feature can be used to pause the Virtual Workstation at any time. See the document "Using RI Virtual Workstation" for tips on how to transport files between the virtual environment and the host OS and "Using RI System Software" for more information.
