When upgrading to use RI8608A Linux NUC EPC or RI8609A Win EPC with a Cassini in Container, the following configuration change is needed in the RiSystem object with ri.sys.Owner attribute value matching the active Guru ID. These system controllers require an Infrastructure with RI8613A USB RIFL Master or RI8568D Cassini 16 Infrastructure with a physical USB interface instead of the traditional EPC TIM infrastructure mounting system. The Cassini application connects via DbManager to Saturn running native local network socket communications with the USB controller. The Cassini in Container VM uses local drive to map the Drive-D (D:) to the default local user path.

Follow these steps after while upgrading or migrating a Tester to the new system controller OS.
  • Guru Server v74+
  • Db Manager v90+
  • Saturn v59+ with local MQTT broker (mosquitto)
  • USB driver for Windows or USB rules in Linux

To Modify the RiSystem Object:
  1. From Guru Apps menu, choose Guru Explorer.
  2. Change ObjClass to RiSystem
  3. Change Key2 to be ri.sys.Owner and the value match the current active Guru ID.
  4. Highlight the most recently created entry and choose Edit Object from the right mouse button menu.
  5. Modify the lines above to include the required values noted in the table below. Leave all other entries alone.
  6. Choose Save.
  7. Close Guru Explorer.
  8. Choose the latest entry from the Short Cuts menu and confirm Cassini startup is successful.
Saturn Linux:
remoteRifl=on
ritdbDir=/users/cassini/Cassini-D/RiApps/data/
vBox-D=/users/cassini/Cassini16-D

Saturn Win10:
remoteRifl=on
ritdbDir=C:\Users\Public\Cassini16-D\RiApps\data\
vBox-D=C:\Users\Public\Cassini16-D

Note: On Windows OS, junction links are used to map the Cassini16-D folder from the Public user to the current user, typically "Cassini".
